Company Overview:
Client is an established multi crore organization, specializing in the supply of equipment to the Indian Navy/Defence establishments and providing engineering services, including Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), to support naval operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Leadership:
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and timely delivery of equipment and engineering services.
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of operations to align with the company's strategic goals.
2. Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Develop and implement operational strategies that support long-term business objectives.
- Monitor key performance metrics and adjust operational strategies to achieve targets.
3. Business Development & Client Management:
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in the Indian Navy and other defense entities.
- Identify new business opportunities, both within and outside of defense, for company growth
4. Engineering & Technical Oversight:
- Direct the engineering team, ensuring compliance with regulatory and client standards.
- Supervise AMC operations, ensuring reliable and efficient engineering support services.
5. Quality & Compliance:
- Uphold stringent quality standards, ensuring compliance with Navy and defense industry requirements.
- Implement continuous improvement processes in operational and engineering practices.
6.Lead indigenous initiatives of equipments & spares
7.Leadership & Team Development:
- Build and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Drive employee engagement, development, and succession planning.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 25 years in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior role supplying to the Indian Navy or defense sector.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of shipbuilding equipment and engineering services, including AMC.
- Skills: Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and business acumen.
- Qualifications: Engineering degree with additional qualifications in management preferably and MBA
Expected Key Result Areas :
- Support the doubling the TO in the next 3-4 years (TO for FY 23-24 is @ Rs 50 CR).
- Create and implement action plan to maintain / improve profitability.
- Restructuring of organization for better efficiency.
- Establishing R&D division.
Domain knowledge :
- Should have adequate knowledge on commercial matters, such as GST, E-Challan, Invoicing, Logistics, Dispatches etc.
- Should have knowledge of nuances involved with imports & exports.
Reporting to: Founder Directors
Future Career Path: Potential to advance to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Board position.
Location: Navi Mumbai/Goa and operations in major Indian ports and work stations in neighbouring countries.
