Role :
- The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is one of the senior most leaders of the company, working closely with the founders and the CEO to drive future-oriented vision and plans for Education.
- The CMO will be expected to set the strategic vision and direction for the companys brand; and build the brand into an iconic, aspirational and distinctive name.
- The CMO will be expected to lead on creating and driving brand awareness, marketing activities and conversion campaigns that resonate with all relevant audiences. The CMO will directly oversee the team (solid-line reporting) that focuses on brand marketing; and will work with the Enterprise and Consumer business units to provide active, engaged guidance (dotted-line reporting) to ensure sales objectives are achieved.
The CMO will have the following responsibilities:
- Create a high-recall brand synonymous with focus on personal and professional growth, and be able to drive and direct adequate resources (creative, media buy and positioning) to launch and amplify brand campaigns
- Lead strategy and execution across key elements of brand marketing: Social Media, YouTube, Celebrity Ambassadors & Micro-Influencers
- Establish the company's value proposition in campus and corporate learning markets, both in India and overseas markets, in strong alignment with sales objectives
- Lead Performance Marketing & SEO efforts to enable strong impressions, high conversions and optimal customer acquisition ratios to push the company's consumer sales efforts
- Conceptualize, create and take custodianship of high-recall brand properties across formats (podcasts, newsletters, conferences, awards)
- Identify, recruit and motivate best-in-class talent to build a high-performing team
- Shape the company's advocacy, corporate citizenship and PR strategy and activities
- Unleash the power of learner and partner testimonials to build a high-trust brand, firmly founded on authentic user delight
Functional Requirements :
- 12+ years of demonstrated track-record of creating memorable consumer brand identities/ campaigns, and rich experience either in digital marketing or enterprise marketing (expertise in one of the two segments is mandatory)
- Enthusiastic commitment to enabling strong sales growth while taking strong, ethical ownership of the brand
- Extensive familiarity with all aspects of digital marketing, with focus on delivering tangible ROI through strong analytics
- Intuitive flair and robust ability to turn data-driven insights into actionable plans
- Good to have: Hands-on experience of monitoring performance marketing campaigns and experience in education, online learning or edtech
Leadership Requirements :
- Benchmark written and verbal communication, problem solving and process management skills; detail orientation and passion for achieving global quality standards
- Prior experience of and ability to inspire, motivate, manage and attract a high-quality team
- Strong bias for action and ability to initiate, coordinate and manage numerous projects and schedules simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic and cross-functional environment
