Background: The Corporate Banking Group's principal objective is to achieve a sustainable revenue stream by diversifying existing revenue sources and building granularity in the income base.
Purpose of the Job: Assistant relationship manager is responsible for financial evaluation and analysis of clients for whom the proposals have come in for debt financing. ARM undertakes the credit analysis and then further discusses with the Relationship manager the contours of the facility that can be offered to the client. Credit appraisal note is then prepared by the ARM. Once the sanction is received, documentation is completed in coordination with the client and the control groups such as Credit Middle Office Group, Planning, Legal. ARM also interacts and builds relationship with the client to service any requirements that arise in day-to-day functioning and also assists the relationship manager in acquisition of new clients.
Key deliverables:
Relationship Management - effective client relationship management to originate business & service client needs on commercial banking, investment banking and international banking products. Specifically, you will determine clients' needs and devise financial solutions to meet their banking and financial advisory requirements.
Target Orientation - Ensuring stability of income from existing set of clients and exploring avenues for new income generation from existing as well as new clients. Achieving individual targets and growing account profitability, while maintaining a high service standard and compliance will be your goal.
Credit Appraisal - Relationship manager is expected to understand the client's financials in detail and is expected to be sure on the credit worthiness of the client before proposing for internal sanctions.
Product structuring - Adding value to the client and staying ahead of the competition by structuring and implementing innovative deals. The structure should minimize the risk on Bank's balance sheet.
Team Management - Driving and directing the team of Assistant relationship managers to drive business profitability and growth.
Key skills:
- Good communication and presentation skills, negotiation skills with ability to interact with people at various levels of the organization and outside environment,
- Strong sales and relationship management skills, ability to identify and generate leads, set up and pursue discussions to acquire and onboard new clients
- Good credit knowledge for deal analysis and structuring
- Knowledge of various debt financing products including Trade Finance, Cash Management, Treasury and General Banking Product and Operations would be an added advantage
