Job Description :

- ORMG is the Bank's support practice for Operational Risk Management for India and Overseas Branches. It functions as a second line of defence and facilitates the business in developing an effective control framework within the Bank.

- ORMG challenges the Risk and Controls documented by the Business so as to enhance the operational risk management of the Bank.

- The incumbent will be responsible for managing a team of professionals (5 - 6 members).

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Examine the various regulatory and Basel guidelines on operational risk capital computation process and work out a methodology for implementing the same in the Bank

- The methodology for developing various appropriate statistical model for computation of operational risk capital to be reviewed on a regular basis for its sustainability and changes in external factors.

- IT Project management skills: The systems used for operational risk assessment to be enhanced in line with the changing internal and external factors.

- Good understanding of Information Technology software and hardware function, so as to independently challenge the risks in the Information Technology area.

- Evaluate the Risk and controls documented by the Business groups and effectively perform the challenge function

- Independently assess and monitor the effectiveness of controls and promote continuous improvement in design and execution throughout the business

- Identify and eliminate redundancies in control procedures and drive consistent and common control process

- Lead the team and ensure that the activities as outlined in the plan are carried out effectively and within the stipulated time

- Partner with Risk, Compliance, Audit, Technology, Business, Operations, etc. to implement and maintain a strong and sustainable operational risk culture

Qualifications :

- Basic graduation in Statistics/Engineering with Post graduation in finance management. Around 10 - 12 years experience in Banking or Insurance.

- Ability to take initiative, think strategically, direct activities

- Ability to pro-actively engage business and functional managers to mitigate risks and prioritize high impact potential issues

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present information in differing degrees and form depending on the audience
