Chief Legal Officer

- Develop and lead the corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the group's matters and interests. Advising promoters and senior management on a variety of issues

- Handle complex legal issues that span legal, business, and functional boundaries (e.g., cross geographies, subject matter areas, jurisdictions, organizations and business models)

- Identify, research, and analyse legal issues that affect the group's activities, ongoing operations, strategic initiatives and expansion plans

- Maintain proper corporate interactions with the relevant local, state and governmental bodies

- Coordinate with external counsel for ongoing cases as and when necessary

- Participate in the formulation of general management policy as a member of the executive management team

- Handle the legal document repository

- Special projects and other duties, as assigned

Qualification & Experience:

- Minimum of 15-20 years of experience heading legal in complex, promoter driven organizations

- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to understand complex legal concepts and analysis and translate those to non-lawyers

- Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government

- Prior success, building relationships with diverse groups of people

- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to work through challenging situations

- Good Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
