Chief Information Officer - Proprietary Stock Trading Firm

We are urgently hiring for CIO (Chief Information Officer) for one of our Proprietary Trading Client in Ahmedabad (GIFT City).

Position Details:

Position: CIO (Chief Information Officer) - IT Infrastructure

Location: Ahmedabad (GIFT City)

Salary: As per company norms

Experience: 15+ years of proven experience in the Stock broking tech infra with at least 10+years of experience in managing Proprietary trading and HFT Infra with in-depth knowledge of trading systems, financial data flows, and exchange connectivity.

Roles & Responsibilities:

IT Infrastructure Management:

- Design, manage, and optimize HFT Infrastructure, including low-latency network architecture, colocation setups, smart order routing, and hardware acceleration (FPGA/GPU).

- Manage data centres, network systems, servers, storage solutions, and cloud infrastructure across multiple geographical locations.

- Ensure 24/7 uptime and minimal latency for trading platforms, with a focus on system resilience and failover mechanisms.

- Experience in Design, Implementation and Maintenance of HFT Infra.

- Experience in handling Big Data, Algo Trading in Tech strategy segment.

- Experience in optimising order execution speeds & reducing trading slippage

Technology Strategy & Roadmap:

- Develop and implement the organization's IT strategy in alignment with business objectives, with a strong focus on supporting real-time trading systems and market data platforms.

- Evaluate emerging technologies to enhance performance, security, and operational efficiency.

- With the help of AI based Monitoring, need to manage all branches across the group and ensuring IT Infra efficiencies across all locations.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management:

- Establish robust cybersecurity frameworks to protect sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

- Oversee data protection, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity strategies.

- Time to time enhancing IT infrastructure for cybersecurity, data protection and network efficiency.

IT Governance & Compliance:

- Ensure IT policies, standards, and procedures align with domestic and international financial regulatory requirements.

- Maintain compliance with SEBI, FINRA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.

- Documenting and developing efficient trigger/ monitoring system that would help in controlling contingencies.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

- Collaborate with technology partners, third-party service providers, and trading software vendors to ensure seamless integration and support.

- Manage IT budgets, negotiate contracts, and oversee resource allocation for IT projects.

Leadership & Team Development:

- Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing IT team capable of supporting critical trading infrastructure.

- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation within the IT department.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

- Strong understanding of hardware infrastructure, networking, cloud solutions, and server architecture to support trading operations.

- Deep knowledge of network optimization, server tuning, exchange colocation and market data feeds.

- Demonstrated ability to align IT strategies with business goals while driving innovation and digital transformation.

- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as SEBI, NSE/BSE guidelines, and international financial market regulations.

- Proven expertise in handling critical system incidents, ensuring minimal downtime during market hours.

- Experience in handling international IT setups and managing cross-border technology requirements.
