HR Team Strength: 6 Members


Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)


Role Overview:


We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead the people function for a well-established retail jewellery business headquartered in Surat, Gujarat. This leadership role requires a seasoned HR professional with experience in managing large-scale organizationspreferably listed entities or reputed corporateswho can drive transformation, enable growth, and champion a strong organizational culture.


As CHRO, you will be responsible for leading HR strategy, talent management, workforce planning, employee engagement, and compliance across a diverse workforce of 1200+ employees. You will oversee a capable HR team and work closely with the executive leadership to align people initiatives with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Strategic HR Leadership:


- Design and implement holistic HR strategies aligned with business goals.


- Act as a key advisor to the leadership team on workforce planning, organization design, and cultural transformation.


- Build scalable HR systems and policies that support growth and operational excellence.


2. Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding:


- Oversee end-to-end recruitment with a focus on attracting high-caliber talent across functions.


- Develop and execute talent acquisition strategies tailored to organizational needs.


- Strengthen the employer brand across digital platforms and industry networks.


3. Performance Management & Capability Building:


- Implement performance management frameworks that drive results and accountability.


- Lead learning and development initiatives to foster internal talent and leadership pipelines.


- Establish programs for leadership coaching, mentorship, and succession planning.


4. Compensation, Benefits & Compliance:


- Ensure competitive and equitable compensation structures in line with industry benchmarks.


- Maintain strong compliance with all applicable labour laws and HR regulations.


- Drive transparent and efficient payroll, benefits, and grievance redressal processes.


5. Culture, Engagement & Diversity:


- Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven work culture.


- Lead employee engagement initiatives and feedback mechanisms to enhance workplace satisfaction.


- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across all levels of the organization.


6. HR Technology & Analytics:


- Drive digital transformation in HR through the adoption of HRIS, automation tools, and analytics.


- Monitor key HR metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for intervention.


- Leverage data for informed decision-making and continuous process improvement.


Key Qualifications:


- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or related field from a reputed institution.


- 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in large or listed organizations.


- Demonstrated success in scaling HR functions in dynamic, fast-paced environments.


- Strong expertise in organizational development, talent strategy, and change management.


- In-depth knowledge of Indian labour laws, HR compliance, and people operations.


- Experience in leading mid-sized HR teams and collaborating with CXO-level stakeholders
