Business Planning:
- Contribute to the BU business planning process, monitor implementation of the business plans and adherance to budgets, highlight any variances and investigate the possible causes, report business unit performance IN ORDER TO ensure efficient use of resources, competitiveness and sustainability of the business unit.
Budgeting:
- Drives annual budgeting process, evaluate and analyse budget proposals, present budget for Board/ Corporate approval, monitor and review performance periodically against budgets, report to Board on Business Unit performance, comply with financial systems, processes, standards, statutes and regulations IN ORDER TO record and report financial performance of Business Unit in a timely and accurate manner.
MIS and Financial Reporting:
- Implement systems and tools for regular and periodic financial reporting, share, review and report MIS periodically, highlight variances, investigate causes and recommend corrective action and track its implementation IN ORDER TO ensure easy access to and transparency in business information for effective decision making.
Cash Flow & Fund Management:
- Monitor the cash flow and funding requirements of business on a day to day basis, review accounts receivables and payable periodically, manage cash flows and funding for day to day operations, evaluate investment decisions and recommend action, maintain relationship with Bankers and Financial Institutions IN ORDER TO ensure efficient utilisation and timely availability of funds for business operations.
Risk Management:
- Plan and implement risk reduction and mitigation initiatives for the Business Unit, highlight areas of real and potential risks in business operations, advice BU management on managing/ mitigating business risks IN ORDER TO ensure that the company is protected against any real and perceived business related risks.
Taxation:
- Implement tax policies, supervise and oversee tax administration and assessment, liaise with external tax authorities regarding tax compliance issues and resolve contentious issues IN ORDER TO ensure complete compliance with prevailing taxation laws.
People Management:
- Identify manpower requirements, set performance goals, review and provide feedback, identify training & development needs and recommend training, manage employee relations, address employee grievances IN ORDER TO attract, retain & develop skills to meet current and future organisation objectives
