Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Role Overview: The CFO is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization and providing strategic financial advice to senior management. They play a key role in driving the company's financial growth and stability.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Manage and monitor the organization's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to the CEO and board of directors.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure optimal financial health.
- Assess and mitigate financial risks and implement appropriate controls.
Financial Strategy:
- Develop and execute the organization's financial strategy, aligned with its strategic goals.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions to provide financial guidance for decision making.
- Identify opportunities for growth, cost optimization, and efficiencies to maximize profitability.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations on capital allocation.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Present financial reports and analysis to the CEO, board of directors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare detailed budgets for the organization.
- Develop financial forecasting models to project future financial performance.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide explanations for variances.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions to achieve financial targets.
Financial Relationships:
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and financial institutions.
- Represent the organization in financial negotiations, including fundraising and M&A activities.
- Maintain effective communication with shareholders, analysts, and investors regarding financial performance and outlook.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support in achieving goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the finance department.
- Set performance targets, conduct performance appraisals, and provide feedback to team members.
Requirements:
- Minimum 20 years of experience in financial management roles.
- Qualified CA (Chartered Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification.
- Proven track record in financial leadership positions.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis and modeling.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven approach.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience in a similar industry or sector is preferred.
