Organization: A leading Business Conglomerate based in Chennai

Position: Chief Financial Officer

Job Role - Expectations

- The successful candidate will act as a true business partner to the CEO and leadership team advising them on Key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model, Risk Management and operational execution in accordance with the business vision.

The key responsibilities include

- Assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy

- Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations

- Influence and direct the business financially to enable it to achieve long term sustained profitability

- To ensure that accurate & timely financial planning and analysis reports are produced in line with company and regulatory requirements

- Develop and execute analysis of various business initiatives (e.g., opening new operations, asset acquisition, new service launches

- Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate / overhead cost allocation

- To ensure effective external audits & reviews with a view to meet all regulatory requirements and deadlines; and Compliance to all relevant regulations and best practices

- Represent the organization to financial partners including Financial Institutions, investors, Auditors, Public officials

- Prepare and coordinate with various external agencies and bankers towards an IPO

- Guide and participate in M&A strategy and executions towards inorganic growth

- Manage and develop Legal team to protect company’s legal interests

- Oversee financing strategies and activities including cash flow planning, ensure availability of funds as needed, cash, investment, and asset management

- Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function

- Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures

- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions

The ideal candidate will

- Be a qualified Chartered accountant or an MBA Graduate from a Premier B School

- With a proven experience as a CFO or in a senior finance position, looking after multiple disciplinary functions

- Having excellent experience within a Stock Market Listed IT/ITES/Retail Organization in India

- Willing to travel and conduct road shows, meet shareholders both current and future in an effective manner

- Have the ability to meet with Banks and negotiate overall relationship including facilities, at optimum pricing and covenants

- Have excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to win the respect and trust of colleagues and other stakeholders

- Have a high level of commercial acumen that goes beyond merely reporting the financial numbers on a periodic basis

- Be a strong performance manager with drive and enthusiasm to succeed as part of a team and deliver outstanding results, with an ability to motivate others to be successful
