Job Title: Finance Director, India
Reporting To: Global CFO (dotted line to local Managing Director)
Location: Noida
The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for continuing to grow the company in line with the business plan whilst maintaining financial stability and optimising shareholder value. With the role comes responsibility for the financial affairs of the company including the maintenance of key financial controls, operational finance, taxation, treasury management, cost control, preparation of financial reports and business analysis together with leading the finance and legal team. Equally, business strategy, planning and forecasting will form a significant proportion of the responsibilities of the successful candidate.
Deliverables:
- Reporting of operational results in accordance with IFRS to group head office and locally, monthly quarterly and annually within set time limits together with analysis of and reporting on variances from plan.
- Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards for all local statutory reporting and managing the associated audit process.
- Ensuring compliance with all Indian legal, statutory and tax requirements especially transfer pricing policies. To ensure efficient tax planning, legal and regulatory compliance of Income Tax, Service Tax, PF, ESI, TDS including auditing & filling of returns.
- Supervising, reviewing, maintaining accounts and regularly interacting with business heads to understand business performance and ensure accurate and effective monitoring of cash flows, budgets, expenses, projections and overall business performance.
- Managing of Treasury functions to maximise cash flow and minimise currency exposure. Collection of debtors, payment of invoices, working capital forecasts and asset management.
- Supervise and monitor system for debtors and creditors accounts. Ensure tracking and active pursuance of overdue debtors and unbilled invoices and taking actions based thereon to ensure recovery and minimise debt outstanding.
- Responsibility to ensure appropriate controls and policies are in place to safeguard assets in India and ensure compliance with all Group and local policies.
- Working closely with the Managing Director to ensure the local strategy is in line with the strategic direction of the group and drive commercial development of the operation.
- Administration of Indian office and ensuring that infrastructure, utilities, systems and communications are effectively maintained.
- Managing repatriation of surplus funds to be available to the Group in a tax efficient and timely manner.
Experience:
- Qualified accountant with over 14+years post qualification experience preferably in an IT, Media, Telecom, Service organisation. Previously Finance Director level or equivalent desirable.
- Proven experience of successfully managing a finance function within an international business of comparable scale combined with experience of working within in a global or highly international business.
- Operational finance track record with the ability to identify and measure key metrics in business to business technology-enabled and/or professional services companies. The ability to analyse and interpret these metrics.
- Can demonstrably be an equal partner and valuable sounding board to the Managing Director and require minimal supervision and management from the Group CFO.
- In-depth knowledge of financial management systems, planning, forecasting, budgeting and controlling processes. Experience of implementation and modification of financial disciplines, systems and processes. Strong technical accounting skills.
- Demonstrable experience of building and developing strong, functioning finance teams.
