CFO
Purpose :
The chosen candidate will be responsible for taking on a leadership role in financial decision-making that affects our startup company and will provide strategic financial input to senior management. While keenly overseeing the overall accounting process, the successful CFO will play a key role in raising funds, developing, and implementing financial procedures to prepare our startup to mature into a lucrative business as well as improve and maintain the financial health.
Key Responsibilities and Duties :
- Execute the financial strategy of the company and will be accountable for strategic business finance, treasury, controlling function, investor relations, risk, compliance and tax.
- Set up efficient financial infrastructure, manage financial controls and accounting procedures
- Oversee cash flow and provide advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs
- Responsible for fund raising, manage due diligence, and plan financials to bring on investors, manage investor relations
- Create strategies based on data, develop contingency measures, and propose action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained
- Support the COO with the preparation of monthly and annual financial plans, track spends
- Maintain speed and accuracy of billings and client payments
- Ensure compliance, including tax matters, RBI, FEMA, FDI, and trust structures in place for ESOPs.
- Ensure compliance to Board mandates, and Governance
Experience & Educational Qualifications :
- 18+ years' experience in a senior financial managerial position
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
- Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA or CPA)
- Working in Pharma, Biotech or Healthcare industry
Desirable Skills :
- Experience as a Finance leader providing strategic guidance as well as setting up processes and systems, to a high growth business, is critical.
- Exposure to a young company at an early stage and experience in building their finance function to build the foundation of a robust lucrative business, is desirable.
- Good understanding of business analytics and far-reaching business knowledge
- Results-oriented, strategic thinker and planner with a vision to help the business realize its long-term goals, see opportunities even among problems and manage different areas of a business's operations
- Member of leadership team, is expected to work with COO and members of Board and its sub-committees.
- Interface with Science and Technology teams (including Innovation, Development & Manufacturing), Clinical, Quality, Commercial and Operations teams.
- Experience in successfully raising funds and deep network in the investor community, IPO, GAAP & non- GAAP accounting and capital markets exposure, are desirable
- Leadership of cross-functional Finance and operations teams.
- Strong management and team skills. Ability to work in a cross-functional and matrixed environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of technology and its latest advancements including automation of processes and the use of other digital services
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft Dynamics SL financial reporting software
- Experience in Healthcare/pharma/Biotech is a plus
- Familiarity and awareness of ERP systems, eg. SAP/Zoho/Tally
- Awareness of Companies Act, Contracts law, standard Commercial terms, and having worked closely with Legal functions in contract execution is desirable.
