Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Role description:
The chosen candidate as CFO will be responsible for taking on a leadership role in financial decision-making that affects our company and will provide strategic financial input to senior management. While keenly overseeing the overall accounting process, the CFO will play a key role in developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of our organization and create forecasts predicting future growth.
Job Accountabilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
- Work with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
- Hire, coach, train and appraise team members and build a strong team.
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
- Acts as Chief Financial Officer and strategic business partner to senior executive leadership team.
- Assesses and evaluates financial performance of organization regarding long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Provides insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.
- Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
- Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
- Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.
- Analyses operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
- Works with the CEO and BU Heads to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
- Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by division, forecast vs. budget by division and weekly cash flow by division.
- Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits.
- Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
- Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
- Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.
- Effective handling of Treasury functions
Desired Qualification and Experience:
- CA (cleared in max three attempts) /MBA Finance
- Has been in a CFO role for 3-4 years or Head of Finance for 5-7 years. Overall experience 15-20 years
Other Requirements for the Role:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proven track record as CFO / Head Finance & Accounts in a relevant industry (PREFERABLY NBFC COMPANY)
- Strategic Orientation (Long term focused)
- Treasury knowledge HEDGING OF FOREX TRANSACTIONS
- Understanding of banking operation RELATED TO EXPORT FINANCE
- Good understanding of Forex (RBI /FEMA GUIDELINES)
- In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (ERP)
- Ability to strategize and solve problems
- Excellent communication and people skills
- An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
