CFO European Operations Freight Forwarding
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning & Analysis:
- Develop and oversee financial plans and budgets for European operations.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
2. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with European financial regulations, tax laws, and 3PL industry-specific requirements.
- Identify financial and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
3. Cost Control & Optimization:
- Monitor and manage operational budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Implement cost control measures and financial best practices across warehousing, trucking, and freight forwarding operations.
- Analyze logistics expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings.
4. Financial Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial performance to senior management.
- Develop financial models and forecasts to support business planning and decision-making.
- Present financial reports and findings to the Chief Financial Officer and other senior leaders.
5. Team Management:
- Lead and develop the finance team, providing mentorship and fostering professional growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective collaboration between finance and other departments such as operations, logistics, and sales.
6. Stakeholder Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with the logistics and operations teams to align financial strategies with operational goals.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in a similar role within the logistics or 3PL industry.
3. Strong knowledge of European financial regulations and compliance requirements for 3PL companies.
4. Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to speak French or another European language being highly desirable.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. Proficiency with financial software and tools.
