Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced CFO to lead our finance team through a pivotal period of transformation and growth. The successful candidate will oversee all financial strategy and operations, ensure compliance, enhance financial processes, and drive strategic decision-making on P/L, budgeting and project financial performance. The CFO will manage a team of 15+ finance and accounting staff spread across Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Gujarat. The ideal candidate will demonstrate appetite and ability to create a results, forecasting and profitability-oriented culture whilst bringing a hands-on, coaching-oriented approach to team management and leadership.

Key Responsibilities :

- Oversee the entire finance and accounting function, including financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

- Ensure timely and accurate updating of financial data and MIS reporting from SAP S4 HANA ERP, focusing on financial, taxation, billing, collections, material reconciliation, revenue reconciliation, and cost reconciliation.

- Develop and implement robust financial controls and processes to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.

- Lead the team to prepare and maximise monthly Profit & Loss statements for each project and ensure timely financial reporting.

- Manage accounts receivables, monitor cash flow, working capital and ensure efficient cash management across all projects.

- Liaise with internal team, government departments to ensure compliance with GST, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.

- Drive culture change from "pass the baton" to "getting things done" by implementing a results-oriented approach and fostering accountability within the finance team.

- Collaborate closely with project accountants, billing engineers, the President of Projects and the Executive Director of Projects to align financial planning with tendering, project execution and cash flow management.

- Prepare and present financial reports to board, senior management and stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for financial improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification is mandatory.

- Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the construction or EPC industry.

- Strong knowledge and experience in using SAP ERP for accounting and financial management.

- Exposure and experience with operating the finance department of a public listed entity highly desirable (but not mandatory)

- Proficiency and appetite for continued investment in a technology-first finance and accounting operations environment

- Strong banking, capital market and industry relations

- Proven track record of managing financial operations, cash flow, and compliance in a complex, multi-project environment.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive cultural change and enhance team performance.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
