Chief Engineering Head - Piping & Utilities/Offsite Function

Objective:

This position will be the overall in-charge charge of all Piping and Utilities/offsite functions of the Group

Key Objective / Overall Job Responsibility

1. To provide Engineering support in the area of Piping and Utilities for all new Greenfield as well as Brownfield projects

2. Should have strong Knowledge of various Pipings, Utilities and off site facilities including their basic/ detailed design and related calculation for the utility system.

3. Strong Domain Knowledge and past experience in similar role in steel/ metals/ mining industry.

4. Ability to build and lead the team including recruitment, training and development, coordination with the stake holder and detailed engineering consultants.

5. Contribute to standardization by promoting and Participating in development of discipline design criteria and standards.

6. In house capability development: Identify skill gap and develop training plan for Civil/Structural engineers. Contribute towards development of team capability in design and engineering and drive a continuous development by cultivating knowledge sharing, structured training and other interactions/dissemination processes.

7. Inter-disciplinary co-ordination in projects by developing IDC procedure and other cross functional practices.

8. Software skills to champion development of software knowledge across the entire discipline. Thorough Knowledge of relevant engineering software like pipeflo/CAESAR etc. and their applications in various studies and engineering analysis and should have competence in managing projects using 3D plant suite and ability to conduct/participate in 3D design reviews

9. Promote Safety in design in line with standards.

10. Shall promote team work and support new joinees/Jr. Engineers in project work.

11. Drive value engineering exercise in projects.

B.Tech/B.E. - Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Mining

18.00 To 25.00 Years

- Degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Engineering with knowledge in similar role in steel/power/process/other industries.

Technical Competencies:

- Should have strong Knowledge of various Pipings, Utilities and off site facilities including their basic/detailed design and related calculation for the utility system

Behavioural Competencies:

- Ability to build and lead the team including recruitment, training and development, coordination with the stake holder and detailed engineering consultants

- Should be expert of Mechanical Engineering.

- Team work, High ethical standard and Zeal to work hard to meet the targets.
