Chief Editor - Digital

Role Purpose :

- Should be in charge of creating editorial boards and will be interacting with the Chief Editors of all the other entities, sharing the thought process of the Chairman, getting/collating information from them and sharing with the Chairman in a consolidated/structured manner.

- Should ensure that the Objectives of the Editorial team are achieved in a Efficient, Effective and Innovative manner.

Experience : 15 - 20 Years

Qualification : Bachelor in Journalism/Post Graduate Diploma/Degree in Journalism

Key Areas Of Responsibility And Accountability :

- Drive Accountability amongst Senior Editors for the Quality and Effectiveness of Interactions with the Chairman and the Senior Management

- Reduce surprises and Improve planning - Early warnings and alerts to the Chairman on the performance of the Editorial Team and their outputs

- Should have prior experience working with Digital / TV / Print media in English, or any other Regional Language.

- Reviews all articles and photographs for accuracy as well as potential libel or slander, and provides suggestions, if needed, about any changes to make before the publication is released digitally, as an when required as per the Chairman's instruction.

- Should have experience in generating content ideas; researching and coordinating article ideas; writing, editing articles, delegating and overseeing writing and editing assignments of editorial teams, article acquisitions for Journal and newsletter as per Chairman's Instructions.

- Meet regularly with the publisher or publication board to discuss issues, plans, and other business relating to the publication, report them to the Chairman in an appropriate manner.

- Generate ideas for new ways of doing things, such as using new technology, implementing ways to increase readership, and how to utilize new media, as per Chairman's instruction.

- Liaise with reporters, journalists and editors as and when required.

- Checking facts and stories to ensure they are accurate, adhere to copyright laws, are not libelous or go against the publication's policy.

- Holds primary responsibility for design and layout of the front page and news sections in print edition
