Chief Accounting Officer

We are seeking a Chief Accounting officer (CAO) for one of client, an NBFC giant. The candidate will report to Head Finance & Operations. This opportunity would be based out of Bengaluru.

The CAO , significantly contribute to the Finance function in leading the overall accounting and tax team control of key financial and planning areas of the business, supporting the forecasting, business plan, profitability analysis, timely reporting to RBI, preparation & reporting of financial statements to HQ, product pricing, managing audits, producing various dash boards and support senior leadership team with meaningful to make informed decisions within the organization.

The candidate will work with the business closely to manage the development and execution of business plans, focusing on achieving sales and profitability targets while ensuring seamless strategic integration between the organization and the respective Business Areas (BAs).

As the CAO, the candidate should have a strategic mindset, business acumen, strong financial knowledge and good excel skills. KRA

- Maintain robust financial management, accounting, and bookkeeping processes in accordance with Indian GAAP and IFRS. Authorize and approve transactions and perform periodic reconciliations in adherence to Indian GAAP and IFRS principles.

- Oversee retail and wholesale accounting operations to ensure business systems are integrated and provide accurate information at all times. Ensure timely reporting to HQ and efficient book closing within strict deadlines.

- Establish necessary controls to ensure the accuracy of data generated by systems.

- Oversee Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.

- Ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements, including timely and accurate submission of RBI returns/reports.

- Manage GST and income tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate filings. Handle all tax assessments and litigations.

- Periodically review and develop accounting policies and procedures in consultation with the CFO, aligning with Central HQ expectations and local laws. Ensure internal processes and procedures are current and comprehensive.

- Act as the key point of contact for internal and external audits, providing necessary support and coordination.

- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to carry out assigned tasks and activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing the impact of regulatory compliance.

- Drive automation across the Accounting & Reporting processes. Take ownership and lead projects end-to-end for system enhancement and development, including UAT and go-live.

- Support treasury operations and Prepare material for ALM committee and various Board meetings.

- Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring their professional growth and development.

- Perform any other tasks and activities as assigned during the setup phase, including system design and testing.
