Chief Academic Officer - Education

About the Client -

Our client is one of the largest education provider in North India with focus on CBSE curriculum for Class 8 to 12. In the last 8 years of their existence they have helped over 30k students across different subjects.

Role -

This is a critical leadership role in the organization; requires the individual to drive the entire academic product portfolio and academic delivery across geographically dispersed learning centers.

Planning: 

i) Product Planning

a. Initiate relevant market research and devise feedback mechanisms to design and evolve product portfolio

b. Adapt offerings basis change in market needs and requirements

ii) Annual Planning

a. Plan batches and scheduling for various cycles/batches for all subjects across all centers

b. Manpower planning and resource planning for annual operations

c. Effective utilization of space, location, time for all resources available and manage optimum deployment/utilization ratios.

Academic Delivery: 

a. Create relevant pedagogical methodologies which can be adopted for imparting knowledge to students

b. Standardize the delivery approach which can be replicated and scaled across all learning centers

c. Design and implement interventions to continuously monitor the quality of academic delivery

 Team Management: 

a. Handling a large sized team with various layers and departments

b. Recruiting the right teachers/trainers as per requirements and annual plans for resourcing

 Technology: 

a. Should be able to understand the IT requirements for the ever evolving education/learning landscape and implement IT systems for an effective delivery

b. Ideate and create digital learning modules

- External Interface and Alliances

a. Managing external organization interfaces like Schools, parents, students

b. Enter into strategic tie-ups with schools, corporates and industry partners

About the Candidate : 

- Chief academic officer shall oversee a large team of teachers/trainers and are responsible for ensuring that educational standards are met. In order to do this they must have strong leadership skills.

- Should be able to clearly establish goals and strategies to achieve those goals.

- Strong mathematical skills to create budgets, and since they work with a lot of information concerning a number of aspects of operations, they need to be able to multitask.

- Ability to understand competitive landscape and the needs of key stake-holders like students and parents.

- Ability to think strategically to design and implement large-scale organizational initiatives.

- Desirable : knowledge of CBSE board pattern of teaching and assessment

- Master's Degree in any field, preferably in Management

- Minimum 15 years of experience with 10+ years in the education industry with face-to-face teaching / training.
