Position Overview:
The POD Head of Sales Department is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving sales growth and overseeing the Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and Account Executives (AEs). This position requires a dynamic and experienced leader who can develop and execute sales strategies, mentor and manage the sales team, and achieve sales targets.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve organisational sales goals and revenues.
- Identify market opportunities and trends to position the company as a leader in the industry.
2. Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the SDRs and AEs to ensure high performance and achievement of sales targets.
- Conduct regular team meetings to provide updates, share best practices, and address challenges.
3. Sales Operations:
- Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop lead generation strategies and optimise the sales funnel.
4. Performance Monitoring:
- Set clear performance metrics and KPIs for the sales team and monitor their progress.
- Provide regular performance reports and insights to senior management.
5. Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Address client needs and concerns to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
6. Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and develop training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the sales team.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the sales process.
7. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the sales department budget, ensuring effective use of resources.
- Monitor expenses and optimise the cost-efficiency of sales operations.
8. Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure alignment and synergy.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to overall business strategy.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-10 years of experience in sales management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a similar industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyse sales data and generate actionable insights.
- Highly motivated and results-oriented.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of market dynamics.
