Job Description:
- As a Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health of our company.
- You will be responsible for managing the accounting team, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial advice.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting:
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Reconcile bank accounts and prepare bank reconciliations. Manage the fixed asset register and depreciation calculations.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial forecasting and budgeting processes. Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management. Identify opportunities to improve financial efficiency and reduce costs.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and tax regulations. Manage statutory audits and tax audits. Implement robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
- Foreign Operations: Manage the financial operations of our foreign offices, including accounting, tax, and regulatory compliance. Ensure adherence to local regulations in UAE and African countries. Coordinate with local auditors and tax advisors.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Compliance-related knowledge of UAE and African countries.
- Practical knowledge of RBI and FEMA regulations for foreign subsidiaries.
- Experience in tax compliance and return filing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience in a multinational company.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Experience in financial systems implementation.
