- The role is a Sales Engineering role and will be 50% Channel Partner (Enablement and Training) 50% Direct Client Account SE role.
- Channel activity will be across India and Direct Client Account SE role will be for Bengaluru only.
Job Summary:
The Channel Sales Engineer (SE) is a partner-focused technical sales professional who provides pre and post-sales support to channel partners. The channel SE is responsible for working with key channel partners to make recommendations for customer deployments for pre sales designs as well as assisting with post sales deployments in some cases. The resource is also responsible for assisting in providing training as needed to the channel partners. The SE acts in a consultative fashion and is looked to as an expert in their field by the account team and customers.
Essential Functions:
- Provide pre/post-sales assistance for sales/service opportunities to channel partners and their customers. This includes design reviews, implementation planning as well as customized training on Company products
- Enable channel partners to independently define solution options and articulate the benefits of Company products
- Act as an interface between the channel partner and the Company (OEM) technical and support organization to resolve outstanding product and technical issues
- Assist channels to close business in regional territories through field visits with channel partners to major account prospects
- Enable channel partners to perform product demonstrations and presentations at customer sites, company road shows, and events
- Work with Regional Training manager to provide trainer certification training and develop and deliver customized workshops as needed to assigned channel partners
- Provide reporting and feedback on channel partners
- Work closely with channel partners and customers in the design and implementation/integration of Company products
- Promote new and innovative approaches to addressing business challenges and problems
- Maintain a broad-level of knowledge of industry trends and how Company products add value
- Travel throughout the region 75% of time Perform other duties and projects as assigned Education and
Experience:
- 7 years’ experience as a Sales Engineer (3 of which must be in security)
- 3 years of channel experience
- Advanced understanding of internetworking, including new products and solutions
- Excellent knowledge of security solutions and technologies, including;
- internet security
- firewall technologies
- proxy technologies
- data loss prevention solutions
- anti-virus, spam and spyware solutions (Gateway and SaaS)
- Understand and be conversant about Company, its solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
- Provide presales assistance for sales opportunities to customers and partners. Including installations, troubleshooting and training of Company products.
- Act as an interface between the Sales organization and technical staff to resolve outstanding issues
- Refine and research technical requirements of the opportunity
- Assist in closing business in regional territories through field visits to major account prospects
- Perform product demonstrations and presentations at customer and partner sites, company road show’s and events
