Job Description:
Position: Vice Chancellor
Department: VC Office
- Key Relationships Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar, Dean Research, Dean IDOL, Director International Affairs, CRC, CFO, Marketing, HR, Dean Student Welfare, Executive Directors, Directors, HOD, Faculty, Director Projects, Director Admin, Students
- VC provides leadership and shall be the Principal Academic of the University responsible for the development of academic programmes of the university. He shall oversee and monitor the administration of the academic programmes and general administration of the university to ensure efficiency and good order of the university. The Vice Chancellor provides a vital, creative and adaptable vision and leadership in support of the development, assessment and improvement of student services and experience which meet and support the university's mission and strategic plan.
Expectations from Vice-Chancellor Role:
Strategic Planning and Governance:
- Establish University as New Age University: Short Term and Long-Term Strategies - Planning and Implementation with respect to University Vision and Mission
- Accreditations and Regulatory: Strategies, Compliances, Rankings and Ratings
- Strategic Plan of Infrastructure consolidation for transition to next phase
- Develop and Implement Digital Strategy
- Strong Interface with Stake Holders: Students, Alumni, Parents, Government and Other Organizations - Quality Improvement Strategies - Redefine and Revamp Policies and Procedures (SOPs) Academics:
- Achieve Academic Excellence through best-in-class curriculum and teaching learning process - University to be recognized for high quality academics
- Distinctive learning models with respect to Multidisciplinary University (120+ programs) - Advanced Learning Management System to augment student learning experience - Articulation of programs in all streams and program wise tie-ups with leading global universities - Outcome based academic model for varied programs of Non-Engineering / Non MBA streams - Enhance Student Engagement in Teaching through experiential and inspirational academic model
- Effectiveness of industry collaborative academic programs and amalgamation of industry experts in teaching (Adjunct Faculty)
- Career Mapping in curriculum for all Academic Programs
- Assessment and evaluation process / procedure for Non STEM courses
- Integrating employability skills in regular academics across all streams
- Creating meaning full outcome of Seminars, Conferences and other Co-curricular activities - Quality assurance mechanism in academics & non academics domain
- Best Practices and New Initiatives
Research, Innovation and Consultancy:
- Strengthen Research Capabilities: Setting targets and action plan for inculcating research culture through team building and forming research groups
- Achieving benchmarking figures for national/international positioning
- Collaboration with reputed National/International Organizations including Industries for Applied Research, Technology Transfer through Innovation
- University to be recognized as COE for seeking opinion by State/Centre Government Bodies - High impact factor publications and citations in research
- Mentoring and funding by angel investors leading to high turnover / yield of Start Ups - Targeted Revenue Generation through High Quality Consultancy and Projects - CU as a platform to produce Future Business Leaders for economic growth and success stories
Branding:
- Monitor Brand Equity and Business Growth
- Build Value Proposition to make University Institute of Choice for Students
- Identify and build flagship programs for university
- Roadmap to improve national and international rankings
- Plan to improve external and internal branding
- Improve perception and academic reputation
- Portray Faculty/Staff as brand ambassadors
- Standardized Internal and External Communication
Marketing / Enrolment:
- Comprehensive admission policy and process : set standards for quality intake - Strategy to Achieve Demand Ratio of 1:10
- Clear Marketing Strategy for establishing University as Quality Institute
- Admitting Students on the basis of National Level Tests like JEE, CAT, MAT, CLAT etc. - Attracting meritorious and talented students
- Revamp Scholarship and Free ship Schemes to attract top talent
- Maintaining diversity of students across programs
Choice Based Career Options:
- Strategy and Action Plan to meet Student Career Aspirations along with 100% Student Success. - Robust Framework for Providing choice based career options to Students of all Streams
- Synergy between Academics and Department of Career Planning & Development for effective Career Mapping leading to wholesome Professional Development of Students
Placements:
- Achieve Placement Ratio of 80% for whole University
