- Creating engaging written pieces of copy that can be used in digital, TV & print media
- Use the opportunity to push our services and educate consumers about relevant information related to the brand's offerings.
- Creating style guides for a company's overall content
Who does a Content Writer works with?
- A Content Writer typically works with the founders office, marketing & the product team, and they are supervised by either a Product or a Marketing Manager who ensures content is produced on time and meets the organization's needs.
Overall Responsibilities of Content Writer must include:
- Research and analyze top SEO content topics
- QC content to ensure it is free of grammatical or factual errors
- Follows all brand editorial guidelines for consistency
- Research and write long-form content on various relevant topics
- Publish content on various platforms and analyze traffic performance
- Research and evaluate competitor marketing with a focus on content
- Researching industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews & studies)
- Writing clear marketing copy to promote our products/services
- Preparing well-structured drafts using Content Management Systems
- Create content marketing campaigns to drive leads and subscribers
- Use SEO best practices that help generate traffic to our site
- Regularly produce various content types i.e. emails, social posts, blogs & white papers
- Actively manage and promote blogs, and pitch articles to relevant third-party platforms
- Edit content produced by other members of the team
- Analyse content marketing metrics and makes changes as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to create innovative content ideas
- Research industry-related topics (combining online sources, interviews and studies)
- Proofread and edit blog posts before publication
- Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles
- Identify customers' needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics
- Update website content as needed
- Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone)
Other Requirements:
- Bachelor's/PG degree in English Literature, Communication, Marketing or Journalism
- Familiarity with web publication techniques
- Familiarity with marketing tools, MS Office or Google Suite
- Good understanding of the latest marketing trends and techniques, especially SEO
- Willingness to multitask and take new initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creativity and a keen eye for details
- Proven work experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter or similar role
- Portfolio of published articles
- Familiarity with web publications
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
- At least three years of experience writing for a B2B audience
- Experience using WordPress, Weebly, and/or Joomla! preferred
