Job Title - Head of Finance Department - Finance

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Head of Finance is the senior executive responsible for managing the financial activities of the group. The Head will be part of the senior management team and will Co-report to the Board and the MD & CEO. The position will be responsible for advising on the best path of growth for the business and possessing overall control and responsibility for all financial aspects of the company.

Key Result Areas:

The Head of Finance will have the overall supervision of Finance, Accounts, Taxation and Risk Management.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Engage and collaborate with the Board and present and report accurate and timely financial information of the company to the board and relevant stakeholders.

- Develop budgets and planning for financial resources on short-term and long-term and conducting financial and variance analysis with respect to plans

- Undertake Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, organizational revenue/expense reporting.

- Monitor the inflow and outflow of funds and ensure optimum utilization of available funds towards the accomplishment of organizational goals.

- Maintain relationship with regulatory and credit rating agencies as required from time to time.

- Determines an adequate capital structure of the company. S/he must know what the best debt-equity ratio should be mix for the company so that the company's funds are managed in the best possible manner, considering all factors like risk, liquidity, market conditions, etc

- Participate in developing new business and assist the CEO the drafting of prospective budgets, identifying new funding opportunities and determining the cost-effectiveness of prospective service delivery. This will include working with other key senior persons of the organization to ensure financial and operational success through cost-benefit analysis along with compliance with all related requirements.

- Work with the CEO on the long-term strategic vision of the company which includes fostering and cultivating stakeholder relationships across various levels as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of contracts.

- Develop and the ongoing monitoring and development of internal control systems designed to report accurate financial results and preserve company assets. Ensure all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations

- Monitor banking activities of the organization.

- Ensure adequate cash flow is in place to meet the organization's needs.

- Adhere to the law and company's policies

Critical to success in this role:

- Overall supervision of finance and accounts team.

- Should be able to understand the entire business and culture in depth and be hands on within the next 3 months.

- Should be a quick learner and have a growth mindset.

- Possess fluent written and spoken English skills - able to translate detailed information into clear, concise, and accessible messaging.

- Team player with outstanding organisational and leadership abilities, willing to get hands dirty and yet also think strategically.

- Should be able to get involved in the detailed costing and process of Operations, to help drive cost efficiency processes independently.

- Should be able to drive the commercial process, by understanding sales and operation process, to ensure that market hygiene is maintained, no extra money is lost in the claims to the market, all procurements are done at the most optimal prices

- Should be able to drive and lead the Digital transformation in each vertical of business to ensure real time and correct data based decision making

- Should be able to lead all fund raising projects for the business, be it from banks, NBFC, IPO etc independently and become a spokesperson for the business on all financial matter.

- Should have the ability to give financial perspective in all discussion with all the HOD including the COO/CEO/MD in any decision making

- Should be able to lead and drive the corporate governance agenda in the organization.

- Should show ability of driving projects with timelines and negligible follow ups and push required.

Qualifications:

A qualified Chartered Accountant

- 15+ years of experience in a similar position.

- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles (IFRIS), with excellent knowledge of corporate financial laws and best practices

- The Head of Finance needs to have broad technical knowledge. Along with financial management and reporting, should have hands-on experience in corporate finance, credit control, risk management, investment, and cash flow forecasting.

- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP) Experience in corporate governance and good negotiable skills

- Experience in partnering with an executive team and reporting to a board of directors.
