Central Upskilling Head
This role requires a leader with a strategic vision and the ability to navigate matrix organizational structures. You will be responsible for building a culture of continuous learning with core focus on upgrade to a technology driven mindset and ensuring our workforce is equipped with the skills they need to excel in their current and future roles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage proven frameworks for rapid skill gap analysis across levels and various personas including senior leadership to executives.
- Continuous comprehensive skills gap analysis across all functions and business units, identifying the current and future skill needs of the organization and carving it into a rolling skill enhancement roadmap
- Develop a customized upskilling strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals and future workforce needs with core focus on technology play.
- Be the Custodian and Product Manager of the L&D platform to ensure ease of use and adoption.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, Learning & Development, Business Unit Leaders and Technology teams) to design and deliver impactful upskilling programs that cater to diverse learning styles and skill requirements.
- Source and curate high-quality learning content, including internal expertise, online courses, certifications, and external partnerships.
- Implement a robust learning management system for program delivery and tracking.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive evaluation strategy to measure the effectiveness of upskilling programs and their impact on employee performance and business outcomes.
- Foster a culture of lifelong learning by promoting employee engagement with upskilling opportunities.
- Champion change management initiatives to overcome resistance and build buy-in for upskilling across all levels of the organization.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven track record of designing and implementing successful upskilling or reskilling programs in a large, complex organization.
- Strong understanding of leadership learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Experience working in a cross-functional and cross-business unit environment.
- Ability to stand on his/her own in front of executive and senior leadership despite hierarchies
- Have a great network with the L&D community across the industry and globe
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct data-driven decision making.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Project management expertise and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Proven track record of successfully implementing upskilling programs.

- Data analysis: The ability to analyze data on skill gaps and training effectiveness helps measure progress and adapt programs.
- Budgeting: Developing and managing a budget for upskilling programs is an important responsibility.
Eligibility:
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in Learning & Development or a related field, with a proven track record of designing and implementing successful upskilling or reskilling programs in a large complex organization. Engineering background is desired.
- Qualifications: A Master's degree in Human Resources with special focus on L&D, Instructional Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Technical Expertise : Solid understanding of current and emerging technologies: This forms the foundation for identifying the skills gap and choosing the right upskilling programs.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS): These platforms are often used to deliver training content, so proficiency is a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the Indian business landscape and the current skill gaps within a conglomerate structure is beneficial.
Deliverables :
- Curriculum development: The ability to assess needs, design effective training programs, and source relevant content is essential.
- Instructional design: Understanding how adults learn best helps create engaging and impactful training experiences.
- Delivery methods: Being familiar with various delivery methods (e.g., online, in-person, blended) ensures flexibility for diverse learning styles.
- Performance Management : Effective delivery and performance management of L&D partners and platforms or products for the company
- Adoption Metric : Key focus on all drivers to ensure high adoption of the Upskilling roadmap using multiple hard and soft skills and techniques and a technology based telemetry for monitoring and analysis of the adoption
