CEB is an EOE.   Position: Research Analyst – Emerging Markets Research Team (EMRT)   Overall Job Purpose:   The Emerging Markets Research Team works on topics from across each of our functional Practice areas and provides ample opportunities for the Analyst to deepen his/her business understanding. Some of the programs that the Emerging Markets team supports include:  - Corporate Leadership Council—HR (serving heads of HR)  - Audit Director Roundtable (serving heads of Internal Audit)  - Research & Technology Executive Council (serving heads of R&D)  - Programs from our Financial Services practice   The Analyst will help develop CEB’s Asia-related content, including best practices and data assets. This content will be aimed at serving the needs of Western multinational companies operating in the Asian market, as well as domestic companies based in the region. The role will involve a fair degree of quantitative research focused on drawing insights from proprietary databases owned by CEB. This data-based analysis will be augmented by qualitative research and interactions with CXOs in the region to document the most insightful practices across various functional areas.  Specific responsibilities include:   - Construct early-stage hypotheses based on initial literature and ''expert'' research at inception of projects  - Arrange and participate in interviews with CXOs dealing with Asia including those from domestic companies based in Asia.  - Document key insights coming out of these discussions and identify potential best practices to be documented by the team.  - Perform simple data analysis of existing CEB proprietary surveys and synthesize observed trends.  - Write whitepapers and other CEB-style end products to document some of the most interesting insights based on our data/quantitative research.  Capabilities and Qualifications Required:  - Advanced degree is preferred.  - Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English. Experience in business writing preferred.   - Relevant business research experience or academic experience and a solid knowledge of basic business concepts. Backgrounds in consulting or business research preferred.  - Strong analytical skills and knowledge of basic statistical concepts and their application in business contexts.  - Ability to distill quantitative and qualitative data into important, relevant ''so what's'' for a CXO-level audience.  - Self-starter, capable of taking the initiative and managing own pieces of work.  - Strong ability and orientation towards meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects under time pressure.  - Passion for research, analysis and insight generation.  - Original and creative thinking and superior problem solving abilities.  - Results-oriented and with an uncompromising attitude toward quality.  - Good upward management skills: Able to help the manager prioritize; proactively identify areas that require intervention and bring them to the manager’s attention.
