Company: Our client is an e-commerce marketplace for all things in interior and building materials. Its product offering includes carpentry, hardware, painting, tiles, plumbing, etc. Products include both construction and home interior purposes. It offers a mobile app that allows ordering, tracking, and delivery of products Their mobile application is available for both iOS and Android devices.
Location: Bengaluru
Reports to: CFO
Purpose of role:
- Category Head have an end-to-end responsibility of the customer experience and growth of the category they have been assigned to. And work across partner teams to deliver customer delight by making a vast range of products available to the customer to discover, buy and consume, at the right prices and delivery commitments.
- This role, based in Bangalore, is a single threaded leader with complete P&L ownership of Consumables Private Brands (CPB). The leader is responsible for driving sustainable growth for the business.
Main Duties :
- Building the long-term strategy for the category's growth.
- Retaining delivery of customer experience metrics.
- Managing business relationships with key brands.
- Weekly and monthly tracking of category metrics to monitor goals and diving deep where needed to drive continuous improvement.
- Process development, operational planning to support forecasting and new launches.
- Influencing executive decision-makers, helping them to understand the brand, desired product positioning, key points of difference, and target customer.
- Partnering closely with cross functional teams like logistics, marketing, legal, finance, to deliver on goals.
- Category management post product launch which will include close collaboration with core categories, inhouse marketing and sourcing teams as well as with the sellers.
- Developing, implementing and managing robust market analysis / bench-marking processes; leveraging key-insights to inform and support the category strategy development process.
- Establishing strong relationships with internal business stakeholders; building a strong understanding of strategic business direction, requirements and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories.
- Evaluating supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking analysis.
Decisions:
- Price planning: you have to decide on the appropriate product range. It should be in a range to suit your target customer's price needs.
Knowledge and Experience :
- 10+ years of experience in the E-commerce Industry.
- Experience in P&L / Revenue management role is preferred
