Category Mgr - Greenfield Procurement - FMCG

One of our esteemed client an MNC into FMCG industry is looking for Category Manager - Greenfield procurement.

Responsibilities:-

- This position would be responsible for sourcing, procurement and scheduling of items/services in the category of Capital Equipment. The responsibility includes development & sustenance of a supplier database to reduce the overall ownership cost associated with the above and also working in collaboration with various stakeholders in order to ensure that the critical timelines of implementation are met.

- Provide Procurement input related to Capex, for business processes such as Cash flow management, forex hedging inputs

Capex Procurement

- Lead the Packaging procurement responsibilities

- Analyze and understand business needs for capex projects

- Understand both demand & supply market,

- Develop national sourcing strategies including the below to deliver cost savings in capex

- Maximising the BCC sourcing buying

Service Levels

1. Ensure that Preferred Suppliers respective categories, through meetings, discussions, visits etc are made aware of Quality/Service Level Expectations. To oversee supply chain and procurement consultation happens on a regular basis with Stakeholders and vendor’s management and stakeholders to ensure that quality of material/Services delivered is right first time

Credit Period Management and Financial Evaluation

1. To ensure that all suppliers ( to whomsoever it is applicable ) go through a Financial Evaluation through rating agencies or through a self assessment process and the same is documented for reference and evaluation

2. To ensure that the credit period is managed in a judicious manner in line with business goals

Risk assessment and mitigation

1. Undertake risk assessment of suppliers of respective categories in every aspect-financial, due diligence and legal, contractual, capacity as well as quality/service level

Education, qualifications and training

- Degree in Engineering is must.

- Procurement related knowledge trainings.

- Ideally, an additional qualification such as Specialisation in Procurement and Supply chain or equivalent or a MBA.

(b) Experience or skills required

- 4-6 years procurement experiences.

- Track record of delivery at junior management level.

- Understanding of procurement processes around Capital procurement category
