JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THIS ROLE :

Primary Skills :

- Category Manager, Merchandising Manager

- Pharma Category Management

- Vendor Management (Evaluation, Terms Finalisation, Relationship)

- Assortment Optimisation

- Sales & Promotions

- Planning and Execution

- Inventory & WC Optimisation (reorder levels, Stock freshness, BBD mgt, exit plans)

- Excel-based Data Analysis & Forecasting (Vlookup, Pivot Table, etc)

- Communication and Interpersonal skills

Key Deliverables :

Job Purpose :

- This position is responsible for maintaining relationships with vendors and managing product range. The category manager also is responsible for the overall promotion of a product category.

Responsibilities and Duties :

- Periodic onsite operational support and review of pharmacy purchasing practices.

- Monitor the issuing of drugs or supplies to departments throughout the hospitals and clinics.

- Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends.

- Devise long-term development strategies for product categories.

- Ensure that outdated and unusable medications are returned to the reverse distributor and confirm proper credit is received.

- Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products.

- Ensure that purchasing agents are appropriately segregating look-alike, sound-alike medications in the pharmacy.

- Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services.

- Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility.

- Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category.

- Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories.

- Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory.

- Assume responsibility for budget development and revenue for the category.

Skills and Competencies :

- Solid knowledge of category management, marketing, and sales principles.

- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.

- Excellent communication and people skills.

- An analytical mind with a strategic ability.

- Proficient in MS Office.

- Enterprising team-player with the ability to manage group workflow.

Requirements :

- Graduate/PostGraduate in any field

- 5-6 years of work experience in E-com or Retail (Pharma Companies)

- Excellent command on English and Hindi / Marathi

- Traveling whenever required
