Category Manager - Internet/Online

Location: Gurgaon

Experience level: 4+ Yrs (2+ years post MBA)

Job responsibilities:

- Own the P&L for a category. Set category GMV and contribution margin targets and work with various teams to achieve them.

- Understand the market in detail, identify the target segments, understand their needs and contemporary trends

- Conduct business analysis to maximize opportunities in the assortment in order to achieve continued growth and profitability for Vendor and Company; work closely with sourcing team

- Forecast sales, develop indicative seasonal plans, price merchandise, create promotional strategies and collaborate with sourcing team and vendors to ensure optimum inventory

- Communicate merchandising strategies to all Vendor partners to ensure that goals are met/surpassed on a regular basis

- Set periodic targets for the sourcing team at seller, brand, and SKU level and support the sourcing team in achieving them.

- Work with the technical team to develop tools and measures to improve conversion rates

- Conduct customer analytics to understand buying behavior and purchase patterns to optimize customer engagement and conversion

Qualification and experience required:

- Engineering graduate in any discipline (2009 or later)

- MBA from top B school with 2+ years of post MBA work experience

- Must have managed a category for a leading eCommerce firm
