Job Description :

- Develop and execute category plans for staple food products, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

- Conduct thorough market research to monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and consumer preferences.

- Identify growth opportunities within the staples category, contributing to product innovation and assortment expansion.

- Source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, high-quality standards, and reliable supply.

- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, optimizing terms and conditions to improve margins.

- Maintain strong vendor partnerships through regular performance evaluations and collaborative improvement initiatives.

- Collaborate with the inventory and demand planning teams to accurately forecast demand for staple items.

- Ensure consistent inventory availability, avoiding overstocking and stockouts, by managing replenishment schedules effectively.

- Optimize pricing strategies to drive profitability while ensuring value for customers.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, logistics, and marketing teams to execute category strategies successfully.

Requirements:

- Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA preferred.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in category management, buying, or procurement, preferably within the staples or FMCG sector.

- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing supplier relationships and securing competitive terms.

- Excellent analytical skills, including experience with demand forecasting and inventory management.

- Knowledge of the staple food market, including key suppliers, industry trends, and consumer preferences.

- Proficiency in data analysis tools and MS Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

- Willingness to travel as needed for supplier visits and market research.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
