Position: Category Manager

Location: Bangalore

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Category Manager with proven experience in e-commerce, preferably from a D2C brand, to join our growing team and take ownership of category management across multiple channels, including Marketplace (MP), Quality Control (QC) via MP, and stores. The ideal candidate will have a strong strategic mindset, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to optimize all aspects of category management to drive growth and profitability. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in scaling a rapidly growing e-commerce business and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and Execute Category Strategy: Design and implement robust category strategies to enhance the product offering, boost sales performance, and drive long-term growth. This includes establishing clear objectives, identifying key opportunities, and ensuring the category is aligned with business goals.

- Manage GMV, P&L, and Profitability: Oversee the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), profit and loss (P&L) management, and ensure profitability targets are met. Develop actionable insights from financial performance to optimize revenue streams and improve margins.

- Optimize Conversion, Pricing, and Offers: Drive initiatives to increase the conversion rate across channels by refining pricing strategies, creating compelling offers, and improving customer touchpoints. Work closely with marketing, product, and sales teams to develop effective promotional strategies.

- Track Assortment & Competition: Continuously monitor category assortment and ensure a competitive product offering. Keep an eye on industry trends, competitor activity, and market changes to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

- Analyze Category Performance & Customer Satisfaction (NPS): Regularly analyze category performance metrics such as sales growth, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction (NPS). Use data insights to refine strategies, enhance product offerings, and ensure a great customer experience.

- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as marketing, product management, supply chain, and sales to ensure alignment on strategic objectives and smooth execution. Lead regular reviews and discussions on category performance, ensuring timely corrective actions when needed.

- Innovate and Identify Growth Opportunities: Keep an eye out for emerging market trends and customer preferences, seeking out innovative solutions that will differentiate the category in the marketplace. Champion new product introductions and category extensions to boost growth.

Requirements:

- 4-6 years of experience in category management, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience working with e-commerce or D2C brands.

- Demonstrated success in managing P&L, pricing strategies, and analytics to drive business growth.

- Strong proficiency in using data analytics tools to derive insights and make informed decisions.

- Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and collaborate effectively with various teams to achieve business objectives.

- Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and marketplaces, with a focus on conversion optimization and customer satisfaction.

- Proactive, strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for driving results.

- Experience working with marketplaces, online stores, and omnichannel strategies.
