- Develop a Framework for Vendor Management, Finalize TOT (Terms of Trades)and Plan and initialize JBP (Joint Business Plan)keeping in view the business goals.
- Develop Category strategy, keeping in view the business goals and competitive market scenario.
- Responsible for driving sales, margins, working capital & Category profitability
- Responsible for monetizing visibility properties and generate Other income keeping in line with business needs of the category
- Managing National and Local vendors and maximize the sales and margins for the category
- Plan and finalize pricing and promotion strategy for his category .
- Finalize and implement FMCG category assortment strategy thereby achieving sales, margin and stock target
- Analyse sales data to understand how to positively affect the category performance
Other Details
- 3-5 years relevant experience in category management
- Post Graduate from reputed institute
- Should be willing to work from Bangalore Location

- Education/qualification: Any Graduate with relevant experience/MBA is an added advantage

- Analyze data or insights to determine industry and consumer trends
- Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
- Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products
- Foster trust relationships with vendors to achieve better pricing and quality of services
- Place appropriate orders to ensure product availability that meets consumer demands
- Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility
- Liaise with marketing teams to determine competitive pricing and promotional activities of a product category
- Collaborate with buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories
- Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
- Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
- Proven experience as category manager or similar role
- Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Proficient in MS Office
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Excellent communication and people skills
- BSc/BA in business administration, marketing or related field
- Ensuring company product categories along with displays are optimized for sales and marketing.
- Researching and analyzing trends in sales and consumer behavior.
- Drafting reports for the organization to enhance sales.
- Producing, adapting, and advising on display and current marketing materials as needed.
- Planning and implementing planograms for shelf displays.
- Communicating with suppliers and retailers about products.
- Optimizing in-store displays with prompted signage, category markers, and category usage tips.
- Adjusting strategies and materials to improve sales with new target markets.
- Coordinating and briefing market research initiatives.
- Checking and managing inventory for various product categories.
