Category Lead - New Categories

- Category Management: Lead the development and management of new product categories within the steel business, ensuring alignment with overall company goals. Create and implement category strategies that drive sales growth and enhance market share in new category. Oversee the strategic management of new product categories in building construction materials, focusing on innovation and market alignment to drive growth and profitability

- Market Analysis & Strategy Development: Conduct comprehensive analysis of industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape to make inform choices with new category development. Identify and capitalize on opportunities for product innovation, differentiation, and market entry

- Pricing & Promotion: Develop and execute competitive pricing strategies that maximize profitability while responding to market dynamics. Collaborate with marketing teams to create effective promotional campaigns that enhance product visibility and drive sales

- Product Range Management: Oversee the product life cycle for new categories, from introduction to discontinuation, ensuring a well-rounded product mix. Continuously assess and refine the product range based on performance metrics, market feedback, and evolving customer needs

- Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure cohesive execution of category strategies. Lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment

- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for new product categories, analyzing results to identify trends, successes, and areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports on category performance and forecasts to senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations

Who can apply:

- 12-15 years of experience in category management or related roles within the steel industry, with a strong focus on new product development

- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing new product categories

- MBA from recognized educational institute with Engineering background (preferred)

- Strong English and Excel skills required

- Good interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively across different levels in organization

- Strong planning & organizational skills, with ability to work under tight deadlines

- Highly analytical thought process in order to adapt to an evolving business
