Head Category
You are responsible for:
Planning:
- To build a bottom-up short term and the long term demand & supply plan factoring in the inputs from central planning and category teams.
- Work with the team members within the category and in external support functions to execute on strategic objectives.
- Translates the strategy into day-to-day decisions and opportunity identification.
- Closely monitors the business metrics and alters the plan as required.
- Works closely with stakeholders like category managers, IPC, Supply and Demand planning team to come with an in-stock/Inbound plan for a particular category.
Strategy & Design:
- Build the strategic roadmap for the business and drive execution with categories, product teams and various other stakeholders
- Own the fulfillment design/strategy for the BU - Identify the right fulfillment type for each business cohort and operationalize it in a sustainable manner.
Growth:
- Drive growth of the business through horizontal customer initiatives such as acquisition, retention, cross-sell and increasing the wallet-share
- Work with product teams to launch unique initiatives for the BU needs
Category Marketing:
- Own the customer & brand value proposition for the BU
- Work with the marketing team to launch & scale digital brand & performance marketing campaigns.
Customer Experience:
- Drive initiatives with the product & merchandising teams to improve the buying experience of the customer right from pre-purchase decision making to delivery.
Business Operations:
- Drives in stock, inventory turns, and supply chain improvements. Translates data analysis into decision recommendation.
- Ensure asset availability, sellers readiness and right inventory metrics to enable the business to meet its demand numbers.
- Drive the strategic initiatives around operations and sellers to ensure right seller experience and deliver the right customer speed.
- Responsible for capacity planning & utilization, instock & regional utilization & overall inventory health.

You should have:- Strong program management skills, multi-tasking ability & interpersonal communication - ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams on fragmented workstreams
- Strong analytical orientation and customer understanding
- Strong product & technical orientation

- Ability to translate strategies into execution plans and take them to completion
- Must be willing to learn & develop ecommerce way of thinking
- Work experience of 12+ years
- Prior experience in supply chain is preferred
