JOB DESCRIPTION
- The Head Category Management while reporting to the Business Head, will be responsible for planning and support the strategic sourcing function in delegating and supervising the team.
- Develop product assortment and price definition, as well as buying and negotiations process from suppliers, to ensure that all process is performed efficiently and effectively.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Post-Graduation - Diploma in business administration / Agriculture / Science Graduate with good communication skills.
- Minimum 12 to 15 years- experience in the field of procurement of pulses, grains and other commodities.
- Should possess adequate knowledge in Finance to understand Gross / Net Contribution / ERP, Exposure to legal compliances, marketing and procurement principles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for bottom-line maximization or regions through product margins / Damage stocks loss reduction / Better sales mix of High margin articles.
- Fill Rate improvement / TOT negotiations & execution.
- Charting the Category road map for P&L management and achieving category pricing and procurement Margin Targets.
- Handling merchandising aspects to enhance Customer Experience.
- Communicate between Operations, Procurement, Marketing, Fulfillment & Pricing for Categories performance.
- Optimization of stock holding levels through inventory planning.
- Developing most cost-effective and best quality product sourcing matrix.
- Demand forecasting and inventory planning.
- Develop and implement category plans in line with the company's strategy and responsible for initiating category related cataloging, marketing & merchandising activities in collaboration with Marketing team.
- Devise long-term development strategies for product categories in consultation with the suppliers.
- Provide leadership guidance and support to team of category heads to develop comprehensive category strategies.
- Determine the positioning of a product category to maximize visibility and hence improve sales
- Oversee catalogue to ensure that the products placed on the site are relevant to the category, provide relevant information to the buyers and are following a standard format and are optimally priced.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure sufficient supplier base is maintained across all regions, customer segments and price points and ensuring ample MSE/local suppliers
- Develop exit strategies for unsuccessful products/ categories
- Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory.
- Audits vendor spend against forecasts, procurement governance and policy, and business needs.
