Senior Product Manager
About the team:
The position is within the core payments pod, which is part of the Payments product team. The Payments product team at Cashfree Payments is responsible for creating the payments platform agnostic of each payment method as well as building deep knowledge of how different payment methods function and operate. The team's charter includes terminal procurement, bank integrations, switch building, bank TSP setup, orchestration, dynamic routing, settlement etc. The core payments pod is responsible for ensuring that each paymode PM and their respective devs are able to focus on that mode without having to worry about the platform, which is provided by the core payments pod.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
1. You will be expected to develop a deep understanding of how payments work - both from a business and technology perspective. You will not be expected to know the details of a specific payment method - like cards, upi etc. but you will be expected to be the subject matter expert of the payments core, method agnostic platform.
2. You will be expected to collaborate with engineering architects and managers, marry the engineering prowess with practical product solutions and work with developers to execute them.
3. You will be expected to understand technology, not work on it but still be able to comprehend the architecture and microservices involved, which will further help in coming up with the right solutions.
4. You will also be collaborating with different product managers to validate problems & solutions, as the solution might impact the way payments are processed and some considerations specific to payment methods also come into play.
5. You will be expected to work a lot with data, analyzing metrics and take decisions based on the available data OR ask for interventions such that the right metrics can be recorded and then worked upon.
What You Will Need:
1. 4+ years of product management experience along with an academic background with a B. Tech and MBA or equivalent experience.
2. A developer (having worked on new age technologies) turned product manager with 4+ years of product management experience will be a good fit for the role, having worked in payments/fintech will be an added advantage.
3. You have a love for both business and technology - and you don't mind prioritizing one over the other, as the need arises.
4. An experience working with tech teams to come up with product solutions that are technology-first and scaleable.
5. Influencing skills that compel and persuade individuals or teams that operate inside and outside the company without direct authority.
6. Experience working in a cross-functional, agile product team environment.
7. Experience working closely with UX teams to imagine, scope, and build customer first products.
8. Demonstrated ability to weigh product trade-offs, especially in an ambiguous environment.
9. Deep analytical skills that use structured and unstructured data to inform key metrics and improve business decision making.
10. Able to simplify complex ideas and communicate them with clear, logical thinking.
