At Outsized, we match clients in financial services and management consulting to high-quality independent consultants and boutique/specialist firms for the execution of their key projects.

Our client, a prominent player in the financial services industry, is seeking a Settlement and Reconciliation (Operations) Specialist with 8-10 years of banking experience. This specialist will be contracted exclusively for 12 months to manage and optimize settlement and reconciliation processes related to card operations.

Key Responsibilities

Settlement Processes:

- Liaise with the client's card operations team to establish and optimize settlement processes for new card products.

- Manage daily settlement activities and ensure timely and accurate transfer of funds.

Reconciliation and Reporting:

- Conduct detailed reconciliation and investigate discrepancies in card-related processes.

- Manage and execute postings to clear any breaks or discrepancies identified.

- Support customer credits and maintain effective communication with stakeholders to address and resolve issues.

Operational Support and Coordination:

- Provide operational support for key activities in coordination with the client's Technical Account Management team.

- Liaise with payment firms to set up new Interbank Card Association (ICA) and Bank Identification Numbers (BINs) for new card products, including specification of required parameters.

- Define business requirements and configure settings for new products to ensure operational readiness.

- Develop test cases and coordinate user acceptance testing to ensure new card products meet specified requirements.

- Collaborate with fraud and risk teams to define appropriate BIN ranges for new debit and credit cards.

- Coordinate with third-party vendors, including card printing services and couriers, as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

- Experience: 8-10 years of professional experience in banking, specifically in settlement and reconciliation operations related to card services.

Skills:

- Proven ability to manage large-scale settlements and financial reconciliations.

- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify, investigate, and resolve financial discrepancies.

- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

- Familiarity with setting up and managing ICA and BINs for card products.

- Experience in defining business requirements, creating test cases, and managing user acceptance testing.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage relationships with third-party vendors.

This is a contractual role and will be on an initial 12 month contract. This role is based out of Dubai, UAE.
