Joining Business Next as a Finance Controller presents an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in a fast-growing AI-driven technology firm. With operations spanning across more than 4-5 countries, Business Next offers exposure to a dynamic, multi-geographical business environment. As a Finance Controller, this role goes beyond traditional financial oversight-it's about driving financial governance, optimizing controls, and enabling sustainable, scalable growth in an innovation-led organization. It involves ensuring compliance across global operations, streamlining financial processes through AI and automation, and providing data-driven insights that shape business decisions.

What would you do?

- Accounting & Reporting: Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with Indian accounting standards (Ind AS) and other relevant regulations. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.

- Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Manage audits (internal and external) and address any audit findings.

- Treasury & Cash Management: Manage cash flow, optimize working capital, and oversee banking relationships. Forecast cash needs and ensure adequate funding is available.

- Tax Management: Oversee all tax-related matters, including direct and indirect taxes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and timely filing of returns. Work with tax consultants as needed.

- Internal and Statutory Audit: Manage and coordinate internal and statutory audits. Liaise with internal and external auditors, provide necessary information and documentation, and ensure timely completion of audits. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.

- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations. Leverage technology where possible.

- Stakeholder Management: Interact with various stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and external auditors

- NetSuite Administration & Optimization: Utilize NetSuite to its full potential, including reporting, customization, and integration with other systems. Identify opportunities to optimize NetSuite usage for improved financial management.

Academic Qualifications / Skills Required:

- Chartered Accountant (1st Attempt) qualification

- 6-9 years of progressive experience in finance roles, preferably in fast-growing startups, IT services, or software companies.

- Proven experience with NetSuite or an equivalent ERP is essential. Candidates should be able to demonstrate hands-on experience with NetSuite (equivalent ERP) modules relevant to finance and accounting.

- Strong understanding of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), Companies Act, and other relevant regulations.

- Proven experience in accounting, reporting, and audit.

- Experience in developing and implementing internal controls and compliance procedures.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

- Experience of managing a team and grooming talent in essential
