Position: Assistant Manager
The key job responsibilities include the following:
- The professional needs to develop, write, and deploy thought leadership and intelligence projects in the Life Sciences and Health Care (LSHC) industry. The incumbent will need to develop research ideas, frame hypothesis, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, synthesize findings, demonstrate strong writing and presentation skills, and review and assess team’s work and performance.
The professional will be required to –
- Demonstrate expertise in LSHC industry or it’s sub-sectors by identifying differentiated research opportunities.
- Design research proposal, build consensus, and formulate research plan.
- Interact with internal and external subject matter experts on a topic.
- Liason with U.S. colleagues to understand, refine, and manage clients’ expectations and priorties.
- Apply established research tools and methodologies to support business decision-making.
- Demonstrate strong writing skills as required for intelligence and thought leadership reports.
- Display strong consultative and engaging presentation skills.
- Manage all aspects of engagement/project to ensure outcomes and meet deadlines.
- Review/guide junior colleagues on projects and client interactions.
- Provide support in the learning and development of the team.
The key skills required are as follows:
- Business research/thought leadership in LSHC industry; Specialization in any one or more sub-sectors of LSHC such as life sciences, health plans, health care providers with broad understanding of the cross-sector linkages and implications
- Knowledge of the U.S. market is preferred.
- Experience in one or more of the following research methods: Expert interviews, case study research, econometrics, forecasting/simulation, text analytics, and big data
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exposure to working in teams, including virtual teams.
- Knowledge of databases – sector specific databases like HealthLeaders, HIMSS Analytics, Thomson Healthcare, Dataview MB, SNL; and generic databases like One Source, Thomson Research, FactSet, Factiva, and Hoovers.
- Understanding of strategy models and frameworks.
- Team management experience.
- Highly developed personal and professional ethics are expected.
- An ability to build professional relationships, a spirit of co-operation, and a flexible approach to work are required.
- Experience in working with US clients is a plus. Since the job requires significant coordination with US colleagues, the ability to network with US counterparts is important.
