A motivated Business Manager is sought to coordinate and manage the overall activities of the Initiative. The Business Manager will be overseeing the operational functioning, as well as, responsible for taking a lead role in coordinating the operations of all the work streams. The Business Manager will be responsible for planning and monitoring the project initiatives. S/he aims to constantly monitor cash flow and collaborate with fundraising managers to determine the funds needed to maintain operations and meet the organizational goals. S/he will be responsible to oversee grant compliance and efficient resource utilization. S/he need to focus on strong blend of managerial, financial and business operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, coordinate and execute the implementation of the Initiative's work plan;
- Manage engagements with a multitude of stakeholders/partners engaged on a project;
- Manage administrative requirements of the project portfolio, including financial management, budgeting, procurement, contract set-up and compliance, grant reporting, deliverable tracking, etc.
- Ensure appropriate systems are designed and put in place so that compliance with grants and institutional guidelines are maintained for processes including planning, budgeting, procurement, reporting, legal matters, etc.
- Prepare detailed budgets and work plans in coordination with finance team and researcher team;
- Create Request for Proposals to identify the partner organizations to champion the different work streams under the Initiative;
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely submission of financial reports and projections, and sub grantee/contract reports and deliverables in the portfolio to keep projects running smoothly;
- Ensure timely submission of donor / grant reports - liaise with internal teams to gather appropriate information for submission;
- Ensure internal capacity building and alignment to project outcomes;
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Master's Degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Development or related field is mandatory.
- Proven ability to handle several different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete tasks assigned, and meet deadlines;
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships, lead and motivate teams;
- High networking skills and demonstrated ability to interact with a varied set of stakeholders;
- Demonstrated experience in partner and donor management;
- Ability to influence key stakeholders and operational owners through well-articulated strategies;
- Experience and maturity in relationship management;
- Ability to work within tight deadlines;
- Excellent communicator, both written and oral, able to express complex technical issues in plain language;
- Ability to work independently, to be well organized and detail oriented;
- Comfortable in wide ranging cultural, geographic and operational conditions;
- Excellent time and resource management
