Job Description - As the Head of Transmission, you will plan and execute the growth strategy. Candidate will have an opportunity to lead the strategic business development with ambitious growth plans and targets for the establishing and enhancing the organization's presence in the Indian market. The candidate will also lead the hiring of initial team for the transmission business.

Our client is a leading renewable energy power producer in India with projects in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. They are supported by an international venture capital fund and are planning aggressive growth within Indian power sector. They are looking to build a portfolio in Transmission projects- a new business unit within their green energy platform.
Description
- The position will be responsible for the entire development of new opportunities and providing direction and strategy for implementation of the EHV networks.
- Responsible for initiatives in bidding, regulatory, project management, and commercial activities related to the projects.
- Responsible for exploring new business opportunities and geographies and will support the tendering team in estimation and tender preparation.
- Must be aware of the latest bids and competition in the market in order to guide the financial modelling for participating in bids.
- Must develop strategy to achieve short-, mid-, and long-term business objectives for the company and the transmission business.
- Will be responsible to handle the entire lifecycle of the project from bidding to planning to execution to commissioning.
- Interact with various stakeholders within the target customers, initiate/lead negotiations to finalize the terms and conditions of contracts and long-term agreements.
- Maintaining and fostering a relationship with Discoms/Transmission Utilities both at Central & State levels/ Central & State Electricity Regulatory Commissions and other agencies.
- Work closely with cross-functional internal teams, including design, engineering, project management and others to help develop and deliver projects.
- May also be responsible for overseeing non-engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, construction management and other services.
- Should also coordinate with the Marketing team for necessary marketing/branding activities to enhance the organization's position in the market
- Must be a B.E / B.Tech (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical) with an MBA from a premier institute.
- Should have worked with leading developers and companies with similar experience in these territories and the ability to deliver growth in a new market.
- Be well-versed with regulatory, financial modelling and commercial capabilities of EHV transmission lines and substation project models in the target regions.
- Should come with prior experience of working with EPC partners- identification, appointment and management of such partners is of prime importance.
- Understanding and application of basic project management tools and techniques including the following: client goals and objectives, contract terms and project risk, work breakdown structures, project scope/schedule/budget, financial management and controls including earned value, internal/external communication, team management, change management, and project commisioning.
- Should be able to leverage his network to strength the business plans and execution.
- Must have hired and managed teams before.
- Should have worked on and achieved strong and ambitious targets.
