It will be in a strategic role to direct and oversee business development and business operations for the Meetings & Events [Strategic Meetings Management Program]. The person will forge a strong relationship with the customer and deliver on strategic initiatives which will result in long term growth and retention. She/he will lead a number of talented direct reports and will have regular interaction with Company offices across the AP region.
Strong leadership, decisive action, clear analytical thinking and a flexible approach are key attributes of the role. She/he will report to senior leadership and it is critical that she can manage different levels of stakeholders.
Location in order of preference: Gurgaon, Bangalore, Mumbai.
Job responsibilities:
- Supports and implements the company's Mission, Vision and Strategic Objectives for SMM business
- Responsible for oversight and direction of team; leads team to set objectives and agenda including performance/activity updates and communicating objectives
- Develop a strong relationship with a partner's specialized departments to achieve client and Company's goals
- Establishes and ensures achievement of sales growth and profitability targets
- Develops new client business by pursuing business opportunities with strategic targets and cultivating relationships with existing client
- Actively participates in the sales process, guided by the sales team and demonstrates the drive to win in the marketplace
- Creates plans for expansion of existing client and vendor new business opportunities
- Remains aware of marketplace changes and makes partnership/ acquisition recommendations
- Identifies competitive threats and emerging problems and offers
- Prepares both short-term and long-term business plans for the area of responsibility to meet the company's strategic objectives
- Cascades business plans to each level and ensures actions are developed and executed to ensure success
- Defines and implements annual budget plans and oversees regular reporting of results to regional /global units; assumes full P&L accountability
- Evaluates and approves pricing for prospective and rebid situations with clients and vendors applying regional/country economics
- Builds long term business partnerships at key levels for clients and vendors
- Builds strong relationships with employees at all levels; works to be approachable by employees
- Takes an active role working with Marketing to communicate company and industry updates to employees, customers, and vendors
- Participates in and supports the negotiation process for client or vendor contracts and the Service Level Agreements that are win-win for the Company and the client/vendor
