Business Head - Premium/Upgrade services
The Role :
The business will have 2 types of customers Those who subscribe to the online platform and among those who subscribed in 'a' above, those who will upgrade to premium services. The role would require managing part b as a P&L responsibility. This role is similar to say a category management in an e-commerce setting.
- Currently the company has an in house up-gradable service which is one on one counselling where students who have used or registered with the platform want to talk to a professional counselor/mentor to get their doubts/clarifications sorted.
- The company will shortly be adding other services to the upgrades, however the current focus should be to enhance the in-house product usage
Revenues side :
- Increase the % upgrades from the basic subscribers
- Creating & monitoring the product fees
- Figuring out new ways to up-sell
Costs side :
- The delivery team (including the in-house & free lance counselors) who will offer the service will come under this position
- Customer support team
- Content support (reports/data etc for students opting for this service)
Managing scale :
- The main goal would be to increase demand & also figure out a cost effective manner of increasing supply ( in this case counselors)
- Managing the online process including standardization of quality, tracking customer feedback, ranking system for counselors etc
- Hiring in-house talent & creating a process to increase freelance counselors
- Negotiating contracts for free lancers & standardizing per hour rates
Srategizing & budgeting :
- The role would involve strategizing with the founder team on ways to increase customer intake and putting a quarterly operational plan
- The role would be completely responsible for managing costs and make sure the division is profitable
Experience & skills :
- At least 3-4 years experience in P&L management - contribution to revenues is a must
- A clear understanding of online selling - experience in an e-commerce set up is a must
- Adept at creating/initiating & managing online sales campaigns, online customer pre-upgrade support process & post delivery feedback
- Must have managed a team before
