Our Client is India's leading fintech company which provide the customers with payment services, along with merchant transactions, bill payment, and cash collection services.

As the Business Head - Micro Lending, you will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting and originating, lending opportunities within the market, as well as monitoring individual loan performance and strengthening the pipeline for future opportunities.

You will be recommending opportunities within the credit market based on current conditions and modeling. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior investment personnel and assisting in fundraising as needed.

What you will do:

- Identifying, analyzing and originating potential investment opportunities and making recommendations to buy/sell/hold credits

- Designing, creating and owning the P&L for lending as a separate vertical

- Leading the underwriting, documentation, and closing of lending / investment opportunities in assigned verticals

- Responsible for presenting written analysis on individual credits including but not limited to, business outlook, industry dynamics, company management, deal sponsor, capital structure, key credit agreement terms, collateral profile, cash flow projections/sensitivity analysis, comparable analysis, relative value, and any other supporting reasons for recommendation

- Investment research incorporating fundamental analysis of companies within the assigned lending space

- Maintaining high level of knowledge on current / evolving industry trends and monitoring primary and secondary credit market activity in the leveraged loan / high yield space via networking / conversation with research analysts, third parties, and colleagues within the leveraged loan space

- Making presentations on a periodic basis, providing updates on current state of industry, company comparisons, valuations, trends, etc. to the Investment Committee

Candidate Profile:

- Management graduate from top B school with 14-18 years of work experience

- Strong experience of lending, banking, private equity with emphasis on credit market

- Demonstrated competence in use of Capital IQ

- Willingness to learn/adapt to technological platforms

- A certified professional degree in credit and analysis will be an added advantage

- Strong lending background in MFI or NBFCs only with a knack for working with concrete data

- Great understanding of credit/lending/risks in Micro Finance Institution

- Strong industry knowledge and understanding of key drivers/ trends and how business works for different geographies

- Proven record of leading teams to big wins and important learnings

- Ability to handle scale of transactions with small team

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills

- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build sustainable relationships

- Ability to connect the dots to identify opportunities and convince the stakeholders

- Strong business acumen: understands the key financial drivers and dynamics related to growth and revenue goals of an organization

- Proactive, disciplined, individual who can drive results

- Ability to understand technical concepts and liaise with all stakeholders
