Business Head - eCommerce

Silverpeople is retained by a global company with revenues in excess of 5 Billion Euros, to find leadership talent to build a large e-commerce business in India with the goal to be the #1 player in the market in identified space. We are looking for young go-getter with passion for e commerce and desire to create and be part of something new, something big.

The role entails significant business exposure across diverse areas, 360 degree P&L Leadership role, and an opportunity to associate with the global leader and exposure to global best practices.

Salary : Not a constraint for right candidate

Position Summary : To quickly and responsibly build a profitable and sustainable e-commerce business and to position business and its related companies in India.

This is an Ecommerce / Online business start up and the focus of the role in the first 3 months involves:

- Scanning the environment and mapping the market including developing a strong understanding of the local regulatory framework and environment

- Analyzing options and drawing up an Ecommerce entry strategy

- Defining the business model and roadmap for the business

- Obtaining management approval to proceed to implement the project

Thereafter, be involved in :

- Developing detailed project implementation plan

- Implementing the plan and participate in operating the business

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop long and short term strategies and tactics for growth

- Develop brand and messaging to attract and retain customers

- Develop a culture of success and employee satisfaction

- Manage operations to ensure customer satisfaction

- Meet revenue and profit targets

- Develop and manage budgets for marketing, operations, and Technology

- Develop traffic generating strategies, web architecture and infrastructure requirements, and collaboration of information technology, sales, and operations teams to fulfill e-commerce business strategies.

Experience / Track Record : Minimum 3 - 5 years in Ecommerce management, digital marketing, and developing and implementing successful business strategies or with brand and merchandising management, and in managing a online web development or systems environment

Industries Experience One or more of the following :

- Ecommerce / online business start up

- Experience with generating traffic to online business

Geographical Experience :

- Must have operated in India's Ecommerce / Online business environment

Management Experience :

- Strong and demonstrated entrepreneurial skills

- Digital savviness and strong interests and knowledge in the Ecommerce space

- Strong and demonstrated experience in marketing and running programs through Ecommerce to direct consumers
