Business Head - Agri Marketplace - Vietnam


Role :


We are looking for a Head of our Marketplace Business to provide sound leadership in all aspects of our business. You will communicate with employees, stakeholders and customers to ensure our company is able to help our farmer base to purchase inputs appropriately. Strategic thinking and strong business acumen are essential in this role. You would be responsible for onboarding Buyers & Sellers of Agri commodities.

The main objective would be to develop, grow and support our ecommerce trading platform and innovative initiatives in agri industry.

Responsibilities :

- Team building, risk management, scaling up the marketplace & relationship management with institutional sellers and farmers/buyers.

- Manage existing relationships with a range of institutions and processors, along with an understanding of their businesses and requirements.

- To maintain awareness and keep abreast of constantly changing e-commerce ecosystems and advise to various organizations / SMEs in Agri-inputs sector

- To help the farmer identify major farm issues by connecting to the area agriculture experts.

- To identify and develop new business through networking and manage multiple projects at different stages of project life cycle in different business domains.

- To create promotional plans and prepare short & long term product forecasting and analyze the market trends.

- Monitor KPIs and budgets to assess performance.

- Use stakeholders' feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology.

- Communicate strategy to partners and investors.

Criteria :

Academic & Experiences :

- Degree in Agriculture, or a related field; MBA Agri or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.

- Proven experience in a similar leadership role around commodities like agri chemicals, organic fertilisers, seeds, or agri commodities.

- Experience in agriculture and allied services sectors with a significant focus on agri input/produce commodity marketing and food processing with leading value chain organizations like trading houses, warehousing companies, FMCG players, etc.

- Sound understanding and hands-on field experience in the complete lifecycle and value chains of agri input/produce commodities

- Knowledge of agri and digital trends to build strategy.

- Understanding of budgets and business-planning.

- Ability to conduct analyses and research.

- Excellent communication skills.

- Leadership and organizational abilities.

- Strategic & Agile thinking.

- Problem-solving aptitude.
