We are currently hiring Sales and Business development Manager for an esteemed Logistics client in Chennai.

Key Skills and Abilities:

Target Customer Identification:

- Ability to identify and target customers within the Transportation, 3PL, and Contract Logistics (Warehouse Business) sectors.

Vendor Identification:

- Expertise in identifying suitable vendors for business leads and effectively managing the vendor network.

Lead Conversion:

- Strong capability in converting business leads into actual business through effective sales strategies and relationship management.

Customer and Vendor Network:

- Established and well-maintained customer and vendor base, enabling quick identification of opportunities and seamless business development.

Operations Knowledge:

- In-depth knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM) operations, particularly in Transportation and 3PL operations, with a focus on optimizing logistics and supply chain processes.

Communication & Negotiation Skills:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong negotiation abilities to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Experience in Sales & Business Development:

- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Sales and Business Development, specifically focused on the SCM/Logistics domain.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets in the supply chain domain, focusing on both new business acquisition and retention of existing clients.

- Lead Generation & Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging industry contacts, networking, and market research to expand the customer base.

- Client Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and enhance relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term business partnerships.

- Market Research & Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities and challenges within the supply chain space.

- Proposal & Presentation Development: Create and present tailored proposals and presentations to potential clients, showcasing the company's supply chain solutions and demonstrating value.

- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (such as marketing, operations, and product development) to deliver customized solutions to clients.

- Sales Reporting: Provide regular updates on sales pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.

- Negotiation & Closing: Lead negotiations with potential clients, manage contract discussions, and close sales deals effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Educational Qualification : B.E. or any Bachelor's degree with an MBA in Operations Management (preferred), Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related field. Candidates with an MBA will be given preference, though it is not a mandatory requirement.

- Experience : 8 to 15 years of proven experience in Sales and Business Development, preferably within the Supply Chain or Logistics industry.

- Industry Knowledge : A strong understanding of supply chain processes, technologies, and the challenges faced within the industry.

- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.

- Independent Work and Time Management: Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and consistently meet sales targets.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and develop effective sales strategies.

Preferred Skills:

- Previous experience in managing large-scale supply chain accounts.

- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Knowledge of emerging technologies in the supply chain industry (e.g., IoT, blockchain, AI in logistics).
