Job Title: Head of Business Development

- Client are seeking a highly experienced and well-connected professional to join our team as the Head of Business Development. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of the Central Africa/Africa market and have a proven track record in securing new construction contracts. Fluency in both French and English is essential, along with a strong network within the Central Africa construction industry. This position demands a strategic thinker capable of leveraging relationships to drive business growth and expand the company's portfolio of construction projects.

- In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy aimed at achieving the company's growth objectives. You will identify and assess new market opportunities within Central Africa's construction sector and maintain a healthy pipeline of potential projects and clients. Building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders, such as government agencies, private clients, and industry influencers, will be crucial. You will also attend industry events and meetings to enhance the company's presence and expand its network.

- As the Head of Business Development, you will oversee the entire process of securing new construction contracts, from the initial contact through to negotiation and closing. This will involve close collaboration with internal teams, including legal, technical, and financial departments, to ensure seamless contract execution. You will also be responsible for delivering compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.

- A critical aspect of this role will be conducting market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and potential business opportunities. You will provide senior management with actionable insights based on your analysis and ensure that all business development activities comply with local laws and regulations.

- In addition to these responsibilities, you will lead and mentor a small team of business development professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Regular training and development opportunities will be provided to help the team grow. You will also prepare detailed reports on business development activities, including lead generation, contract acquisition, and revenue growth, and analyze performance data to drive strategic improvements. Progress and key initiatives will be reported directly to the CEO.

- To be successful in this role, you should have at least a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field, with a Master's degree being preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, particularly within the construction industry in Central Africa is required. You must have a strong network of contacts in the Central Africa construction market, fluency in French, English, and Lingala, and excellent negotiation and contract management skills.

- The ideal candidate will also possess strategic thinking abilities, strong communication and presentation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software. You must be highly motivated, results-oriented, and have strong leadership qualities to inspire and guide your team. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and cultural awareness will be essential to navigate the complexities of the Central Africa market.
